Melanie is a social worker who has worked in the statutory and not-for-profit sectors in Scotland and Northern Ireland for thirty years. She has a keen interest in building the capacity of organisations to implement policies and practices that will support meaningful change for individuals, families and communities.
Melanie leads the CES team working on the Stable Lives, Safer Streets Programme in partnership with UL and QUB. The programme aims to support the use of evidence and good implementation practice to embed effective approaches to understanding and responding to youth crime and criminal exploitation in Ireland and Northern Ireland. She also led on the seven-year Reaching Out, Supporting Families Programme, building the capacity of not-for-profit organisations to deliver and evaluate family support services, and capturing the learning from the Programme.
