Zahra is currently undertaking a PhD in the Department of Women and Children’s Health with the NIHR ARC South London Maternal and Perinatal Mental Health Theme. Her project aims to apply an intersectional approach to tackle health inequalities while exploring community-based models of midwifery care in an area of high ethnic diversity and social deprivation. She is supervised by Prof Jane Sandall, Prof Seeromanie Harding, Dr Cristina Fernandes-Turienzo and Dr Hannah Rayment-Jones.
Zahra Khan joined KCL in 2016 with the Midwifery Department as an educator and her roles included Clinical Teacher, Lecturer, Cohort Lead and UG Programme Lead. She has been actively involved in various EDI initiatives projects in the faculty and wider college. She strives to incorporate inclusive educational and research practices in her work.
