The Mental Health Implementation Network

The Mental Health Implementation Network (MHIN), which is part of the NIHR National Priorities Programme, was set up to support Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) sites in evaluating the implementation of evidence-based interventions in three key mental health priority areas. These three areas of focus are:
1. Improving access to MH services for minoritized ethnic communities.
2. Improving children and young people’s mental health.
3. Integrated care protocols for substance use issues, mental and physical health problems.
We present our methodology, which ensured a national collaboration between key multidisciplinary stakeholders across government, health services, the third sector, universities, Applied Research Collaborations, Academic Health Science Networks, and service users and the public, working together to implement effective mental health interventions. The key workstreams (i.e., the network management & coordination team, Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) team, Implementation advisory team and the evaluation team) will showcase the impact and early findings from implementing mental health interventions by MHIN.
